FAQ

Quick answers about the Global vLEI application process.

What is Global vLEI?+

Global vLEI is a Qualified vLEI Issuer (QVI). We verify organizations and people, then issue vLEI credentials under GLEIF governance.

Who should be the signatory (DAR)?+

Choose someone with authority to act for the organization, sign during onboarding, and nominate administrators (LARs).

What is the difference between OOR and ECR?+

OOR is for Official Organizational Role use cases. ECR is for Engagement Context Role use cases in specific workflows.

What is an Engagement Context Role (ECR)?+

An ECR is a vLEI credential that lets an individual prove authority to act for a legal entity in a defined business context.

  • The role context is defined by the legal entity and can be workflow specific.
  • It links the person, legal entity, and delegated authority in one credential.
  • It can carry validity periods and status information.
  • It can be revoked when responsibilities or authorization change.
What is an Official Organizational Role (OOR)?+

An OOR is a vLEI credential that proves a person holds an official organizational role with signing and decision authority for the legal entity.

  • Verify contract signing authority without requiring separate corporate resolutions.
  • Authenticate financial approvals from authorized officers.
  • Streamline regulatory compliance and audit verification.
  • Enable automated due diligence and KYC processes.
Can a sole proprietor apply?+

What happens after submission?+

Invitees complete identity verification and required OOBI sessions. Issuance continues after required verification is completed.

What is OOBI?+

Can I edit details before submitting?+

How do I track progress after submission?+
